WAPT aired an interesting piece yesterday, which implied that Swell-O-Phonic's T-shirts are causing controversy. The piece highlights the T-shirt slogans such as "Brandon, We Ain't Pearl Dammit," and "Don't make me go South Jackson on You."

I'll be the first to admit that I was disappointed when my high school senior yearbook came out and I had not won any superlatives. But I did spend hours pouring over my classmates' photos. Madison Mayor Running for State Auditor?
In an interview with Better Mississippi Report yesterday, Madison Mayor Mary Hawkins Butler said she might consider running for state auditor in the 2011 statewide elections. "For the first time I'd like to wait and see what does happen with the auditor's position," Butler told Better Mississippi. "I only will walk through a door ... (if) I feel that's where I'm supposed to be. Nothing has moved me for 30 years, and I have to have a calling."

For the past few weeks, I kept saying I was going to ride my bike to work,but then each day I found a reason preventing me from doing so. So many factors prevented me from just doing it, but I am proud to say that this past week I rode my bike to work twice!

The route is six miles at a slow conversational pace and will make a stop at Peaches Cafe on Farish Street for drinks and food. If you'd rather stay out of the heat, attend BBQ & Blues from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum. Proceeds from the event go to the Harbor House Chemical Dependency Services. Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for kids.
