Chick Ball Donations Piling In; Here's A List
You can still donate to the JFP Chick Ball. The sooner you get it to us, the more likely it'll make the big auction guide. Hurry!

Fresh-Squeezed Style
Keeping with the theme of the GOOD issue, I thought to go on the hunt for goods and pieces made by local artists and designers. Turns out, I didn't have to search very hard.
Dear, Deserving Dad
June 17 is fast approaching, and there's no better time to make Dad feel special. Make your pop proud on Father's Day with any of these great gifts from local shops around town.
Chic at Security
I was at the security checkpoint in the airport last week with approximately 14 minutes until my departing flight. Of course, as fate would have it, I was trapped behind someone who had to de-robe from lace-up wedges and remove 97 bracelets. I'm all about accessories, but in this situation it's important to remember that it is possible to be stylish and comfortable without lots of extras while traveling.
Seersucker Friday
When @FlyJFP Twitter followers make a request, I try my best to deliver. I hear that there are people around town who adhere to the rules of Seesucker Fridays from Easter to the end of the summer. So when they asked for a spread, I was out the next day scouring the city for all the seersucker I could find.
Show Mom She's Special
Mother's Day (May 13) is coming fast. Are you ready? Although most moms would be satisfied with a hug and an "I love you" on their special day, we suggest you up the ante this year and show her how special she really is with a memorably great gift. Here are a few suggestions from around town.
The Shades of Spring
You guys already know my thoughts on accessories: More is more, and this includes sunglasses. We can never have too many pairs. We have multiple handbags and multiple cars, so it's only natural that we have a pair of sunglasses for each. After all, it is important to protect our eyes, and we must look great while doing so

Films and Fast Girls
I tend to adhere to the rule that if you're old enough to have experienced a trend the first time, you shouldn't wear it the second time around. Case in point: This season's colored denim trend sends me straight back memories of fifth grade and an awesome pair of salmon-colored Guess jeans that I loved.
Picture Perfect For Prom
I remember it like it was yesterday: The long, black gown with gold sequins, the shoes I just had to have (even though they were a half size too small), the tanning sessions, the manicure, the up-do—PROM! It's that time of year again, when all the gals are getting pretty for prom.
Here Comes Peter Cottontail
Does one make a list for the Easter Bunny? Or is that just Santa? Regardless, the bunny is on his way, and this year I decided to put together a guide for him. I'd be happy if he blesses my basket with any of these great gifts that I've seen around town.

Follow the trail of fishnets and beads to establish your own queeness at this year's parade.
11 Things About Sweet Potato Queendom
Learn everything you want to know about the SPQ phenomenon, and then some.
The Unofficial SPQ Glossary
Visualize the Sweet Potato Queens—smiling women throwing beads from a queenly float wearing costumes covered in green and pink sequins, spangles, and fringe; long, curling, glossy red hair; sparkling tiaras; and pink majorette boots during the Zippity Doo Dah Parade.
Running Of The Vixens
If you're roaming the streets of Fondren before the start of the Zippity Doo Dah Parade, be sure to watch out for the bulls. It may not be Pamplona, exactly, but the Magnolia Roller Vixens will bring some excitement and entertainment while clearing the way before the parade starts.
Boom Time
Known as the "Summa Cum Laude" of college bands, the Sonic Boom of the South will provide visitors to Fondren an education on how we do it here in Mississippi as the band leads the Zippity Doo Dah parade March 24 at dusk.
