JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — New figures on Mississippi's labor force show Clay County with the highest unemployment rate of 16.8 percent in November.

Mississippi Department of Employment Security records released Tuesday show Holmes County with a jobless rate of 14.4 percent.

Rankin County posted the lowest unemployment rate in November at 4.6 percent followed by DeSoto County at 5 percent.

All told, Mississippi had a seasonally adjusted rate of 8.6 percent, a decrease of two-tenths of a percentage point from 8.5 percent in October, according to MDES figures. The rate decreased seven-tenths of a percentage point when compared to November 2012.

In November there were 1,900 more jobs in Mississippi than in October and 18,500 more than November 2012, according to the MDES' seasonally adjusted results from a survey of Mississippi employers.
