JACKSON, Miss. – Entergy Mississippi, Inc. has successfully completed restoring power to all of its customers whose homes and businesses could safely take electricity after the impact of Hurricane Isaac.

“Isaac was the fourth-worst storm in terms of power outages to hit the Entergy system,” said Haley Fisackerly, Entergy Mississippi president and CEO. “I can’t say enough about the Entergy team of linemen and out-of-state workers and support workers who came together under very difficult conditions to pull off one of the fastest restoration projects in our history,”

Entergy Mississippi customers without power from Isaac peaked at 63,512. Eight substations and seven transmission lines were damaged.

“Despite numerous obstacles and lots of damage to our infrastructure, by late Sunday we met our end goal of restoring service to our customers as safely and quickly as possible,” said Robbin Jeter, Entergy Mississippi director of transmission and distribution.

If a customer still does not have power, it could be because of damage to the home’s weather head. Such damage must be repaired by a licensed electrician before Entergy can safely restore power to the structure. Customers should report power outages to 1-800-9OUTAGE.
