Could SNL be in cahoots with Sen. Clinton? Their would-you-like-a-pillow sketch has made waves during this election, and Sen. Clinton has been on the show twice after that. Is it because they're in New York and she's their senator?

This just shows how ignorant they are up there at SNL. We have a rich Asian population, especially on the Coast, and one of the best damn Sushi restaurants in America - Little Tokyo/Sakura Bana. Obviously, there is a reason SNL has sux for the last ten years!

I think most of the higher-ups at SNL are rooting for Hillary; it's a New York City/"Friends of Bill" thing. Plus having Hillary around gives Darrell Hammond an excuse to dust off the Bill Clinton impersonation. Although SNL hasn't done consistently good political humor since the 2000 election, I do think SNL nailed it a few weeks ago with their parody of the CNN Democratic debates implying that the mainstream media was mesmerized (at least up until then) by Barack and writing off Hillary.

Oh....SNL is "Saturday Night Live"......I didn't know what ya'll were talkin about until I opened the thread.................. I don't own nor ever have owned a TV so it's all Greek to me.....but I know what Saturday Night Live is.....I mean I do assimilate.....

WOW....I guess a nerve has been hit!! I thought SNL was, like, a comedy show? You know they use sarcasm, sterotypes, tongue in cheek etc to make people laugh? They tell, you know......jokes? I agree with all of my fellow JFP bloggers who commented above that based on Mississippi's past history and current news events, everyone already knows know that Mississippi is the first and last bastion for equal rights (smile...that too is a joke~!). What we have to do in Mississippi is make our respect, desire and achievemnet of diversity to be so well know, documented and applauded that we will be as well known for diversityand the promotion of civil rights as we are for being the birthplace of the Blues But heck, then they'll make fun of us for that! At least SNL and the Daily Show don't present themselves as political trendsetters and commentators like those other comedy shows...Rush Limbaugh and the FOX News channel! PS: WARNING ~ WARNING Historical wake up call coming - The birthing of the Blues, of which we Mississipians are so proud of, was born from the three hundred year enslavement and/or disfranchsement of blacks. PPSS: Boy do we have a long way to go!

There are jokes. And there are jokes. I personally grew up hearing bigoted jokes—and I know one when I hear one. The Daily Show certainly does present itself as a political trendsetter, and I like it for that. But telling a joke like this one, which does so much more harm than good and is based on false stereotypes, is not funny. And one can see that and still be a major proponent of teaching our history, all of it, in every ugly detail. In a word, I learned a long time ago that one should not laugh at every joke they hear. I think of all the Asians I know here who work so hard; they're really the butt of this joke, when you think about it. They've just been wiped off our map. And having lived in New York City, I'm sad to report that many people believe this stuff about Mississippi even as they do so poorly on their own front. Of course, we send the messages out with the Confederate flag and by electing people like Barbour on his back-ass "attacking our flag" platform. So, yes, we deserve some blame. But, it's still not funny.
