Wednesday, Oct. 10
College football, Navy at Pittsburgh (7 p.m., ESPN): This is the only way they can get anybody outside of Pittsburgh or Annapolis to watch this game.

Doctor S, who's joined a nationwide effort to find out the name of the cute woman in the Schick commercial, compiles the Slate.

Where are all the Saints' fans? Why are Donna, Todd and other Saints fan so quiet this year? If it's any help at all, let me say: Winning isn't everything. Someone wins and loses every game. Losing is as plentiful as winning. Both teams can't win. It's not whether you win or lose, it's how the game is played. Saints' fan aren't used to winning anyway. I don't blame you for hiding. I would to. If ever you desire to feel the euphoria of winning repeatedly, not to mention Super Bowl rings, all you have to do is become a fan of the Steelers, Colts, Patriots and cowboys! You can go home again, Todd!

I'm not a Saints fan, but I'm shocked they're as bad as they are. They had a golden opportunity to at least possibly save the season, but they threw the bag away. The Panthers are who they thought they were and the Saints let 'em off the hook.

Monday, Oct. 8 Pro football, Dallas at Buffalo (7:30 p.m., ESPN/930 AM): For some reason, Doctor S put this game in last week’s JFP. No matter, the question remains: Can the unbeaten Cowboys ride herd on the sorry Bills? If you missed tonight's game, you missed an unbelievable game. The Cowboys, despite Tony Romo throw five INTs (including two returned for TDs), committing a fumble and had a kickoff return returned for a 103-yd. TD, the Cowboys scored with 20 seconds left on the clock and got within two points. Terrell Owens had the ball knocked out of his hands that otherwise would've tied the game at 24. But Dallas kicked and recovered an onsides kick and went a few yards down the field, which set up a 53-yd. field goal attempt by Nick Folk. Folk hit it, but taking a page from Broncos coach Mike Shanahan and Florida Gators coach Urban Meyer, Buffalo coach Dick Juaron called a very last-second timeout to ice Folk. Folk rekicked it and it was still good! One of the best MNF games I ever saw! Dallas had no business winning that game, but I'll take it whatever way I can get it.

It would've been nice to see Dick Jauron go on a Dennis Green-like rant in the post-game press conference. Dallas was what Buffalo thought they were. They had 'em and let 'em off the hook. Buffalo should've crowned their asses.
