With the school year finishing up you may be beginning to look at the calendar for summer events to plan for. If you're looking for something different make sure to plan for the USA International Ballet Competition June 17 through July 2. Reserved seating tickets are on sale now at usaibc.com to see best dancers in the world compete in the Olympic style competition.

In case you haven't heard, Jubilee Jam has been postponed until at least this fall. If you're looking for a road trip, Bonnaroo, Pitchfork and Lollapalooza have some great line-ups. The ultimate 8-Day musical vacation happens again this year in Chicago with Pitchfork on July 29-30, followed by Lollapalooza the next weekend.

You may also want to go ahead and get tickets for Blues Traveler at Vicksburg's Ameristar Casino July 28-29.

Mark your calendars for the last Thursday of each month for the Mississippi Museum of Art's Jazz, Art and Friends.

Herman... a couple of things.... What happened with Headliner's? I'd read on somebody's blog that they'd closed, but never saw anything else about it. That whole area between Headliner's and Lagers is now vacant? Also... this post is the first thing I've heard about the Jam, period. I've been wondering. I hope that they do make it back for the fall.

Underoath, Poison The Well, As Cities Burn, and Spitfire are playing at The Capri in Fondren on Tuesday, May sixteenth. Bad News Booking and The Fondren Renaissance Board are sponsoring the event. You can buy tickets in advance and at a discount at any Bebop Record Shop. Otherwise, you can pay at the door. I'm pretty sure Fondren Beverage Emporium is staying open during the concert. It is a cool soda shop accross the street. This concert and others like it can really get people excited about Jackson's nightlife. I am hoping there will be at least five hundred people in attendance. Come listen to music and enjoy a soda!
