Mississippi Man Among Those Getting Sentence Cut

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A man convicted on a federal cocaine charge in south Mississippi has had his sentence cut by President Barack Obama.

A White House news release says Darrius Lewis of McComb was sentenced to more than 21 years for conspiracy to distribute cocaine base in 2005. His sentence has been cut to 15 years and eight months.

It was one in the latest round of 79 commutations announced by the administration on Tuesday.
