OXFORD—Tony Biessman, from Rollo, Mo., 74, co-founded Rednecks for Obama with his beer-drinking buddy Les Spencer. They like Obama so much that they went to Denver to the Democratic Convention and are now parked in chairs on the Ole Miss campus waiting for the debate. Why are these two rednecks for Obama—not the most obvious choice of the Redneck Nation, after all?

"Well, I don't see how people can be beat over the head so damn much and no know where it's coming from."

What do you mean: "Beat over the head"?

"Well, with the economy and the working people being cut out of everything. The economic indicators are all terriible right now. We've had eight years of it, and I can't see how they can't see where it's coming from," he said.

What makes him a redneck?

"Sugar is spice and all things nice."

Well, maybe not all that nice. Roll owns about 10 guns and likes his beer domestic, thank you very much.
