The Mississippi Braves won the Southern League championship on Saturday night by defeating the Carolina Mudcats 3-2 in 10 innings.

The M-Braves won the best-of-five series 3-2. The title capped a complete turnaround for the M-Braves, who finished in last place in the Southern Division during the first half of the season. The championship is the first for the Braves Class AA franchise since moving to Pearl in 2004.
