Upcoming Band Promotes Natural Disaster Awareness

The band "Crews South" will be playing at the Voodoo Lounge on July 20th, from 11:15 p.m. till 12:30 a.m. in efforts of raising awareness of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Foundation. Band members include lead vocals Aaron Mordecai, back up vocals Lynn Birmingham, and Andy Pollard of Alabama along with local artists such as Trent Lewis, Jeremy Rainey and Nick Stroud, band leader and road manager, of the Jackson music scene. Crews South's sound is an original soulful click between current country rhythm rock and jazzy blues. They grab the ears of many genres. Their lyrics such as "The band is on and the music is tight," and "I wonder what I would see if we could paint our lives" describe their originality and unique style.

Crews South is traveling for F.R.I.E.N.D.S. "Fund Relief In Every National Disaster Situation," across southeast states as they create awareness for victims of national disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes and even terrorist related activities to raise money for the restoration of human lives.

The mission of the non-profit F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Foundation is "To raise awareness of the needs of people brought about by disaster, encourage more private involvement in fund raising and care of victims, fill gaps in relief efforts, educate and prepare people for disaster, help those permanently financially damaged by disaster to return to their normal way of life and bring emotional relief through music."

Crews South, Lead Vocalist Aaron Mordecai, and Backup Vocalist Lynn Birmingham wrote the national song for the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Foundation, titled…"Friends". The song can be heard in its entirety on www.friendsal.com This CD will soon be released. Currently, Nashville Country Music Legend, Jim Ed Brown, is pulling together his friends in the music industry to be a part of the making of the video for the foundation.

Lieutenant Charles Barbour, affiliated with Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, MS, will be joining forces with F.R.I.E.N.D.S. in creating a blood bank for the military forces.

Donations to the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Foundation can be made at any Regions Bank or by mail to P.O. Box 2063, Huntsville, AL, 35801.
