All SEC Title Game in 2013 & Week Eight Winners

The first BCS poll was released last Sunday and rumblings around the nation are already starting about an all SEC championship Game again. The SEC was the first conference to feature two teams in the title game last year when Alabama and LSU met in a rematch.

There are several SEC lurking to join Alabama in the title game if the Crimson Tide finishes undefeated but the Tide still has some big games left. The rest of the country will be hoping for upsets in the SEC and hope someone can finish undefeated from another conference.

Here is a look at who could reach the BCS Championship right now by conference:

ACC

Florida State has to make up for a bad loss to North Carolina State and Clemson lost to Florida State to the ACC in a hole. The best chance for the ACC is to have Florida State or Clemson win out and have all the other conferences stumble.

Florida State will have the best chance with a big showdown against Florida looming at the end of the season. The Seminoles can't afford another loss or they are out of the title picture.

Clemson needs the Seminoles to stumble and other teams in other conferences to stumble for the Tigers to have a chance at the title game. The Tigers are a long shot right now but things always change in college football and the door is not completely closed on Clemson unless they lose again.

Big-12

Kansas State is the best shot for the Big-12 right now because they are undefeated but West Virginia and Oklahoma are lurking if the Wildcats stumble. There are several other one loss teams in the Big-12 like TCU and Texas Tech that could get in the mix if they do not lose again.

Kansas State will see their chances hurt or kill the West Virginia title hopes this week. Oklahoma has one loss but has Notre Dame and West Virginia still left to play and winning out gives the Sooners a chance to play in the title game.

West Virginia could be in the mix but with their defense, that seems to be a long shot. TCU and Texas Tech will need to win out and get help right now.

Big East

The Big East will be in a hole even if one of their teams finish undefeated. As a whole, the conference is at the bottom of the BCS in strength and that will hurt as the season goes on.

Louisville has the best chance to reach the title game but can't afford a loss. Cincinnati and Rutgers are in the mix undefeated as well.

All three teams still must face each other so losses are coming for the undefeated Big East teams. Even so they still have to avoid the upset in conference as well.

Big Ten

There is no Big Ten team that can play for the title. Ohio State is not able to play in the postseason so the Big Ten will be left outside in the cold come time for the BCS title game.

PAC-12

The PAC-12 might have the best chance to get a team in the title game. Oregon, USC and Oregon State all will have a chance to get into the mix late in the season.

Oregon State might have the easiest road to go undefeated if they can get past their rival Oregon. The Beavers don't face USC in the regular season but could face the Trojans in the PAC-12 title game.

Oregon and USC face each other in the regular season and the could face off in the conference title game. Both teams are going to be in the mix until the end unless Oregon gives USC their second loss of the year in the regular season match up.

SEC

Alabama, Florida and Mississippi State are all undefeated and will have a chance to get the SEC a shot at their seventh straight national title. South Carolina, LSU, Texas A&M and Georgia all have one loss.

A number of teams could run the table and make the title game for the SEC. The rest of the country then has to have an undefeated team or a very good one loss team.

The SEC only has to wait for upsets and regular season games to play out in other conferences. There is a better chance of an all SEC title game than most people think because the SEC will get a bump in the polls for being in the SEC.

Florida and Alabama look to be the best shot at an all SEC title game right now but things can change quickly. Notre Dame is undefeated but it will be a long shot for the Fighting Irish to finish without a loss because of their schedule.

Don't count out an all SEC title game at this point in the season.

This week's picks (winners in bold):

LSU at Texas A&M

Rutgers at Temple

Virginia Tech at Clemson

Auburn at Vanderbilt

Stanford at California

South Carolina at Florida

BYU at Notre Dame

Texas Tech at TCU

Alabama at Tennessee

Florida State at Miami (FL)
