Go HARD Dropout Prevention Pilot Program Sets Dates for Spring Break Tour

WHO: The Mississippi Department of Education’s Office of Dropout Prevention and Compulsory School Attendance Enforcement will be hosting the Go HARD Spring Break Tour March 8-16. The public is invited to attend and support this initiative to increase the graduation rate and decrease the dropout rate in Mississippi. The event will include information about the importance of staying in school, activities, music, speakers, food and prizes.

WHAT: Go HARD, a youth-led movement, focuses on supporting and encouraging middle and high school youth in the state to stay in school and graduate. By acknowledging the strengths of teenagers – their Heart, Attitude, Resilience and Dedication (HARD) – the campaign strives to increase graduation rates throughout the state, starting with 13 school districts participating in this pilot program.

WHEN AND WHERE: The Go HARD Spring Break Tour will be in the following locations (in the Jackson metro area):

Saturday, March 9
1-3 p.m. Hinds County/Hinds AHS (Raymond High School/Raymond Gym) Saturday, March 16
Noon – 3 p.m. Jackson Public Schools (Jackson Zoo)
