City Issues Boil-Water Notices

The city of Jackson has issued two precautionary boil-water notices due to loss of water pressure during water-main repair.

The first affects some 400 connections served by the Maddox Road Well System on the following streets:

• Gary Road • Eagle Nest Subdivision • Glennhaven Drive • Glennhaven Court • Cedar Glenn Court • Gary Drive (North end)

The second advisory affects approximately 25 connections on the City of Jackson Surface Water System on Northampton Drive.

The city states that these are precautionary advisories.

"This notice does not mean that the water is unsafe, but it does mean that customers must take precaution and boil the water before use," statements from the city advised. "All customers are advised to boil their drinking water until adequate pressure is restored to the system. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute for the following: cooking or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks feeding pets, washing dishes and all other consumption."

The city of Jackson will notify residents when they lift the advisories. For more information, call 601-960-2723.
