Abandoned and dilapidated houses, such as this one on Farish Street, are common in parts of Jackson and neighbors are fed up.

I have wondered what they are going to do about these abandoned houses on the northern end of Farish (just south of the Monument Street intersection). I would assume that the city would demolish them before the entertainment district would open, as they would be a major eyesore for anyone visiting the district.
