Vigil Held Friday For Murder Victim at High Street Diner

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A candlelight vigil was held for a man who died after being beaten and robbed outside a restaurant on Jackson's High Street last week.

Friday night's vigil outside a Waffle House memorialized 52-year-old Eric Hambrick.

WLBT-TV reports that Hambrick was an employee of the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency who also sang with local choral organizations.

He died last weekend after being robbed and beaten outside the restaurant.

Jackson police say two people arrested in the case have confessed and been charged with murder and strong-arm robbery.
