This is the final football poll until after the bowl games and the playoff games finish in mid-January. If you don't know by now, the four playoff teams are the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, University of Oregon Ducks, Florida State University Seminoles and Ohio State University Buckeyes.

Ohio State moves into the top four after blowing out previous 11th-ranked University of Wisconsin with its third quarterback. Both Mississippi State University and University of Mississippi finish in the top 10 of the poll.

As the regular season ends, the Bulldogs are ranked eighth and the Rebels are ranked ninth. MSU faces 10th-ranked Georgia Institute of Technology in the Orange Bowl. Ole Miss faces fifth-ranked TCU in the Peach Bowl.
