Since June 1, Travis Pinkston and daniel johnson have explored the Midtown community, picking up bits and pieces along the way. As part of the Midtown Debris Organization, the two collect and organize old bottles, brushes, leaves and cigarette butts. Then they sort what others call trash by aesthetic categories and symbolic association.

Saturday, Oct. 8, is the Midtown Debris Organization's Final Organization Block Party from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pinkston and johnson (who does not capitalize his name) will display sculptures of their own and of volunteer organizers from the past few months. Visitors will be able to take home their own sculptures and art for free and buy other pieces.
