Thursday, Jan. 27
Men's college basketball, Vanderbilt at Mississippi State (6 p.m., Starkville, ESPN2, 105.9 FM): The Bulldogs' long home winning streak against the Commodores might be in jeopardy. Vandy could be the best team in the SEC.

Friday, Jan. 28
Boys high school basketball, Lanier at Provine (Jackson, 7:30 p.m.): Two of JPS' --- and Mississippi's --- best meet for the second time in three weeks. (Note: This game may be moved to Jackson State.)

Saturday, Jan. 29
Men's college basketball, Florida at Mississippi State (noon, Starkville, Ch. 12, 105.9 FM): Both the Gators and Bulldogs need a victory if they have any hopes of reaching the NCAA Tournament. ... Tennessee at Ole Miss (3 p.m., Oxford, Ch. 12, 97.3 FM): Vols coach Bruce Pearl won't be on the sideline when UT visits the Rebels (he's serving an eight-game SEC suspension), but it probably won't matter. ... Mississippi Valley State at Jackson State (5:30 p.m., Jackson, 620 AM): The SWAC East's best teams collide.

Sunday, Jan. 30
Women's college basketball, Florida at Mississippi State (1 p.m., Starkville, ESPNU) and Ole Miss at Vanderbilt (2 p.m., Nashville, Tenn., Fox Spots South): Since there's no real NFL football today, why not check out some women's hoops? ... NFL football, Pro Bowl (6 p.m., Ch. 40): The NFL's best players who aren't in the Super Bowl or can't figure out an excuse to miss this game meet in a meaningless exhibition.

Monday, Jan. 31
Men's college basketball, Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Jackson State (7:30 p.m., 620 AM): The Tigers aim to continue their rampage through the SWAC.

Tuesday, Feb. 1
Men's college basketball, Kentucky at Ole Miss (6 p.m., Oxford, ESPNU, 97.3 FM): It just doesn't get any easier for the Rebels.

Wednesday, Feb. 2
Men's college basketball, Southern Miss at UAB (7 p.m., Birmingham, Ala., 1590 AM): The Golden Eagles face a tough road against the Blazers.
