High school football, St. Stanislaus at Jackson Prep (7 p.m., Flowood, 970 AM): The Rockachaws (greatest nickname in Mississippi) are led by quarterback Dylan Favre (nephew of Brett), who set the state record for passing yards in a game last week by throwing for 549 yards in a 50-7 victory over Mendenhall. Favre passed for six touchdowns and threw for a seventh. Can the Patriots slow down the Bay St. Louis bombers?

College football, Jackson State at Mississippi State (2:30 p.m., Starkville, ESPNU, 1300 AM, 105.9 FM): The Tigers and Bulldogs meet in a history-making game. Unintentional history or not, this is another example of why State is the people's university. MSU will win the game; JSU will win the halftime. … Millsaps at Mississippi College (7 p.m., Clinton): The Backyard Brawl pits the Majors, a top Division III team, against the Choctaws, who aspire to be one of the top teams.

College football, Ole Miss at Memphis (2:30 p.m., ESPN, 97.3 FM): The sixth-ranked Rebels will up against the Tigers and the unrealistic expectations of Rebel fans.

Monday, Sept. 7
Southern League baseball, Mississippi at Carolina (1 p.m., Zebulon, N.C., 103.9 FM): The M-Braves play the Mudcats in the last game of the season. See you next year, fellas.
