Football Star Steve McNair Shot to Death

I am in complete shock. From WAPT:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Former NFL quarterback and Mississippi native Steve McNair was fatally shot in the head in a Nashville condo complex, city police spokesman Don Aaron said early Saturday evening.

Details of the circumstances surrounding McNair's death were not immediately known, but Aaron said Nashville police have detained several people in the area for questioning. Police had no suspects.

"At this point, we don't know the circumstances of the shooting deaths," Aaron said. "I don't have any information for you now who's responsible, what the circumstances are."

Aaron said the police department received a call for people injured.

"When police officers arrived in response to that call, they found three individuals shot to death inside the residence, one female and one male," Aaron said.

The police spokesman said authorities have identified the male as McNair, but it was not known when he was shot.

Police have tentatively identified the woman, but continued to identify next of kin. Police continued to search the condo complex in which the bodies were found.

According to McNair's official biography, McNair divides his time between homes in Nashville and Mt. Olive, Miss. ESPN reported that McNair's wife, Mechelle, was in Mississippi at the time of the shootings. The couple had just celebrated their 12th anniversary last month.

This is a sad day for the state of Mississippi and football fans alike. My thoughts and prayers go out to McNair's family, friends and former teammates.

I'm so disappointed to see Steve go out that way. I wonder why he couldn't see that women was crazy? Perhaps a love TKO! The woman looks sad (a close cousin to mad), was young, and had a painful history. You don't sleep in the same room with her or close both eyes. May he and she rest in peace.
