[Stiggers] Your Mind, Not Your Behind

Old School Pete: "You're listening to 108.1, WGST (Ghetto Science Team) radio, the station where listening is worth your while at the end of the dial. This is your old school deejay stimulating your mind, and not your behind, with the 'Round Midnight Music and Message Moment.

"In 2009, we've been beaten down with the harsh elements of intolerance, selfishness, meanness, spite, apathy and greed. So, allow me to soothe your weary, downtrodden and discouraged soul with an uplifting dedication and song.

"I dedicate this moment to the financially challenged individuals burdened with stress within a depressed economy; the unemployed folk who remain jobless; the middle-class people who do their best to stay in their foreclosed homes; the person without a home always feeling like a motherless child; the victims of crime in hard times; the working poor who receive less but labor more for corporations; the people who are easily manipulated by fair and unbiased media celebrities, who use scare tactics to sell oppressive ideas. Also, I dedicate this moment to our nation's leader, as his hair gets even grayer while on the job.

"I can't go 'All Night Long' like Lionel Richie. Instead, I'll just segue to some lyrics from a song called 'Blacks and Blues:'

Make your moves, and find your groove.

You rather win than lose, but chances don't come in twos.

When it's your time to choose, you have paid your dues.

They call it 'Blacks and Blues.'

"Happy New Year in 2010!"
