Comment: You should have seen the crowd today at Ebeneezer Baptist church here in Atlanta where President Clinton spoke. Absolutely breath taking. Brought a tear to my eye. You had to be there to feel the "spirit". One of my favorite speaker was actually a gentleman from China who has been in America since 1992. He talked about how when he made it to America and Georgia Tech how he noticed that everyone could say what they wanted, believe what they wanted, worship whatever God they chose and not be beaten, jailed or even killed for it. He said that his country has not realized this dream yet, and the only word he could think of to embrace it all was... "FREEDOM". We may not agree all the time on the things that we say, but we can thank God Almighy that we are free to say them.

People will go to great lengths to silence things they don't want to hear, but we have the RIGHT to live anywhere we want and express ourselves. Today is a great day to stop and think about that a little: I grew up in a Mississippi where if you didn't go along with the status quo and conform, people went to great lengths to make you feel unwelcome. "Then just leave," they'd say, as if they have the right to tell Mississippians how to think, behave, believe and speak. A few still try to do that, but they only win if you shut your mouth. Be loud, folks. It's our Mississippi, too. So many people gave their lives so that we can speak up today. Everything else pales in comparison, really.

Comment: Marshall Ramsey's cartoon today is adorable and poignant. The only thought I have is: Is it premature? That is, can a black man (or woman) be elected president of the U.S. I mean, so far, the state with the highest proportion of African Americans can't elect a black statewide official. But, I pray he's right. It's lovely to think so.

Comment: I salute Dr. King and continue to do everything I can to keep the dream alive. I was in Chicago and listened to my good friend's daughter speak to a group of young men and women. Her theme was: WAKE UP:STOP DREAMING AND START DOING! It was fantastic. She went on to talk about some young people and "our arrogance; expecting to be given something without labor or service." She further discussed "our strong sense of entitlement" and challenged 20 young people to charge $5,000 each on their credit cards. "This will collectively give you $100.000: Stop whineing: Stop dogging out your elders: Go out and buy a franchise or start your own."

Comment: Did you see when Clinton was drifting off to sleep? They showed a clip on the news, and I couldn't help but laugh. Hey L.W. That clip did not take place Monday at Ebeneezer. I don't know where that was. Martin III was not at Ebeneezer on Monday, only his wife and sister Elder Berniece King. In addition, Bill Clinton did not sit in the pulpit, he sat on the front row. So I have no clue of when and where that clip took place. I'll try to find out and let you know. I would hate to say he was sleeping.. more like 'IN DEEP THOUGHT" (smile)

Comment: I saw that, but that's not Ebeneezer. I don't know where that was. If it were Ebeneezer Bill Clinton would be sitting in the front row and there would be a huge choir behind the pulpit. And of course you are missing Martin Luther King Jr.'s sister Mrs. King-Ferris that MC's EVERY year. But in his defense, he seems like he is really trying to stay up. :-)

Comment: Leave Britney alone! Sorry, wrong thread... I'm going to give Bill a pass on this one thing because I know he's on heart meds and I know he's probably sleep deprived, but that is SO not something that the Clinton campaign needs right before South Carolina. It's really unfortunate. Wait a minute, I'm an Obama supporter. Did I say unfortunate? I meant FANTASTIC!
