According to a news ticker on WAPT, Melton fainted during the swearing in of Hinds County officials at the Hinds County Courthouse. AMR treated him in an empty courtroom, and Melton was able to walk out and drive himself away.

The new ticker now says he is being treated by his doctor. Hmmm, the C-L says he got overheated and that his blood pressure medication had something to do with it. I hope that's all. I hate to think he did something that jeopardized his health in some way.

I was there, and I couldn't tell very much. I saw Melton with his head down in his seat in the back of the courtroom. Then several people escorted him out the door. Several minutes later you could hear an ambulance approaching. When we left the courtroom at the end of the service, an ambulance and a rescue truck was waiting outside the courthouse. That was probably 20 minutes after he left the courtroom. To be fair, the courtroom was a little warm and musky!

"......and melton was able to drive himself away." So, did he actually drive himself away or did the ambulance transport him. This is irresponsible for a man of his age who is hypertensive, on medication, alcoholic and God knows what else, to drive himself from the site after fainting. melton has not had much attention lately and McMillin has made it crystal clear that he is in charge of ALL police activity. Is this a stunt for sympathy?? I really hate to be cynical if the man is physically ill; however, you can take nothing he does at face value.

It must be time for court or a summons. Usually when it's time for him to be put on the chopping block, he'll check himself in the hospital, have a one day bypass or take a vacation with his bodyguards to an island for rest. I'm not being insensitive but too many stunts too many times.

I'm with you maad on this one. frank is usually up to something when he checks into a hospital or has some type of public display. It is interesting how the medical community is commenting on this without having any of HIS facts. McLemore gets on my last nerve. He is for frank one day and against him the next. He calls frank the "energized bunny" during an interview for his personal commentary on the matter. I'm sorry McLemore, this City needs a mayor, not an "ENERGIZED BUNNY." He has hopped and crapped enough on our City. Has anyone noticed the THUNDERING silence at City Hall. Where is SORE? What exactly is going on?
