Brother Hustle: "In my world history class at Ghetto Science Community College, I learned about Berlin, Germany, a city divided by a wall. The division happened because folks on the west side of town wanted a social-market economy, while the folks on the east side wanted a planned economy.

"This reminds me of today's digital divide. You got corporations selling to the masses who can afford gadgets like computers, iPods and Wiis. Then you got the financially challenged who can barely pay their cell-phone bills.

"The corporations, with their TV and radio ads, convince poor folk to climb over a dividing wall to enter into the state of 'Living Beyond Your Means.' Some companies try to bridge the computer technology gap by donating free computers and classes to the poor. But what good is it if the cost of Internet, virus protection and other amenities add up, forcing the financially challenged consumer to pay more money to keep the free computer running? And what makes the divide even worse is the fact that the poor consumer from the ghetto must talk to an outsourced worker from a foreign country for technical support. I see a definite conflict here.
