Motorsports: The End of NASCAR?

Doctor S thinks Weintraub makes some good points, but it's a little soon to euthanize NASCAR.

Is it time to pull the plug on NASCAR? Yes, says NASCAR fan and writer Robert Weintraub. He says that stock-car racing's best days are behind, citing everything from declining TV ratings and attendance to environmental concerns to the decline of Detroit's Big Three automakers.

I hate NASCAR, so I would dance on its grave if it goes away.

No. I don't get any excitement over cars making left turns all day long and I don't like for it to be shoved down my throat as if its the best thing since slice bread. I'd rather watch a Paris Hilton reality show over NASCAR and that says a whole lot.

Never thought I would say this, but NASCAR is actually pretty entertaining. I think that you have to actually go to a race before you can appreciate it though...
