WAPT is reporting that former Jackson State student Lamar Smith, 24, of Lithonia, Ga., was shot once last night. He was treated and released from St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital.
[Correction appended. The JFP originally quoted media sources saying that Smith was a current student.]

Ah, then it sucks that it was reported that way, but typical. (Although if JSU officials said it, the outlets have an excuse). I will correct the headline above.
