Mike "Yuck Yuck" Huckabee is, sadly, starting to sound more like George W. Bush every time he opens his mouth:

Mike Huckabee used the volatile situation in Pakistan Friday to make an argument for building a fence on the American border with Mexico and found himself trying to explain a series of remarks about Pakistanis and their nation.

On Friday, in Pella, Iowa, he expanded on those remarks. "When I say single them out I am making the observation that we have more Pakistani illegals coming across our border than all other nationalities except those immediately south of the border," he told reporters in Pella. "And in light of what is happening in Pakistan it ought to give us pause as to why are so many illegals coming across these borders."

In fact, far more illegal immigrants come from the Philippines, Korea, China and Vietnam, according to recent estimates from the Department of Homeland Security.

Asked how a border fence would help keep out Pakistani immigrants, Mr. Huckabee argued that airplane security was already strong, but that security at the southern United States border was dangerously weak.

"The fact is that the immigration issue is not so much about people coming to pick lettuce or make beds, it's about someone coming with a shoulder-fired missile," he said.

The sudden emergency in Pakistan and Mr. Huckabee's response come at a time when he has come under increasing scrutiny from opponents for his lack of fluency in foreign policy issues, and the situation in Pakistan appeared to have challenged him.

"We have seen what happens in the Musharraf government," Mr. Huckabee said on MSNBC. "He has told us he does not have enough control of those eastern borders near Afghanistan to be able go after the terrorists. But on the other hand, did he not want us going in, so what do we do?" Remember when Bush couldn't name the leader of Pakistan during his campaign? Remember him trying to blame Iraq for 9/11—continually? We just don't need any more dolts in the White House. That's cost us way too many lives, not to mention world respect, at this point.

Situations like these make me wish experienced foreign policy congressman like Joe Biden and Chris Dodd had more of a chance at being elected.

Agreed, Lindsey, especially about Biden. He is sooooooo much more knowledgeable about foreign affairs and international relations than any of the others in either party. But like you said, he hasn't resonated with the voters. Neither have Dodd or Richardson who are well versed in that area.

Speaking of YUCKabee, did you know about this? Documents Expose Huckabee's Role In Serial Rapist's Release The woman he raped was Bill Clinton's cousin. Could that have had something to do with the release? Well... The case for Dumond's innocence was championed in Arkansas by Jay Cole, a Baptist minister and radio host who was a close friend of the Huckabee family. It also became a cause for New York Post columnist Steve Dunleavy, who repeatedly argued for Dumond's release, calling his conviction "a travesty of justice." On Sept. 21, 1999, Dunleavy wrote a column headlined "Clinton's Biggest Crime - Left Innocent Man In Jail For 14 Years": "Dumond, now 52, was given conditional parole yesterday in Arkansas after having being sentenced to 50 years in jail for the rape of Clinton's cousin," Dunleavy wrote. "That rape never happened." A subsequent Dunleavy column quoted Huckabee saying: "There is grave doubt to the circumstances of this reported crime." After Yuck let this guy out, he raped two other women, one of which he murdered. The other was pregnant at the time of the rape. The guy died in prison a couple of years ago.

We talk so much about who knows what and why and this lends itself to the your question, Kasey, about the reason that people such as Biden, Dodd and Richardson are not being recognized for their knowledge and understanding of "foreign affairs and international relationships." If these people know/knew so much, why then would they vote for the war????? Isn't it interesting that the Harvard law school graduate with so few years in the Senate would have the knowledge and understanding about foreign affairs and international relationships that he was able to write the script for what would happen in the Middle East as if he were a fortune teller.? Obama told the world that if Bush invaded Iraq and killed their King that this would cause the entire Middle East to destabilize! It did. If Bush and other Congress men and women who supported the war in Iraq had only read the history of its people, we would never have allowed Bush to pre-emptively strike. Now, those who are trying to defend their country and their oil fields are called "Terrorist" rather than patriots. Does this story remind you of America's intervention with the Indians? Think about it. It will definitely be interesting to see how this unfolds.
