You were born in December if…

1. You are given a Christmas/birthday gift.

2. You are often told that you will get a birthday gift sometime after Christmas because the person is broke. Then, the person forgets to give you the gift.
4. When someone throws you a birthday party (lucky you), they use Christmas decorations or some sort of red and green combo.
5. People tell you, "Oh yeah, by the way, happy birthday!" as if it was an afterthought.

Yeah, you guessed it - my birthday's this month. It's on the 21st, to be exact, which sometimes lands on the first day of winter, THE SHORTEST DAY OF THE YEAR. Don't get me wrong: I don't completely hate it. After all, I was born on my late grandfather's birthday, and every year, he would give me a dollar. No matter how old I got, I still got that same dollar, LOL.

Also, I became an aunt for the fourth time on Friday, which is why I haven't been on the site for a few days. His due date was my birthday, but my poor sis couldn't hold out that long, especially since the child was 8 pounds, 6 ounces. He'll be in good company because in addition to my birthday this month, my older sister, my mother, my godsister and her sister all have December birthdays. On top of that, my younger sister and the baby's godparents have wedding anniversaries this month. It's one jam-packed month, that's for sure.

Anyhoo, if you know anyone with a December birthday, give him or her a little extra attention. Let the person know that their special day hasn't been forgotten. If you can, give them a birthday gift that is just a birthday gift - no combos, please.

My poor brother-in-law has it the worst of all: a December birthday that falls on Christmas Day. We always make sure he has two presents, one for birthday and one for Christmas: and we always have a birthday cake for dessert.

That's very considerate of you all, LH. I'm sure being born on Christmas has got to be a challenge. Bless his heart...

I was born on the 22nd, and my brother two years later on the 30th. We had to share a party, everything was in red-and-green, a lot of people were out of town for the birthdays. The worst of all, though, is correct: I had a friend with a Christmas Day birthday. He couldn't have a party on his birthday. One year I even had the gall to go over on Christmas morning to give him his present - a rewrapped reject from my Christmas present bonanza.

footsy, I've had to share a birthday party with my older sister before since her birthday is two days before mine. So yours lands on the first day of winter this year, huh? Well, catch sunlight while you can! :-) Happy birthday! You're one day behind me. Also, happy birthday to NewJackson and happy anniversary to LH and IG!
