Mississippi State released a statement an hour ago about this well-deserved honor for Coach Sylvester Croom:
Mississippi State head football coach Sylvester Croom was named the Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year by the league's other head football coaches, the conference office announced Wednesday. "It is a great honor and a tremendous blessing to be named SEC Coach of the Year by my peers," Croom said. "To even be considered for such an award by the coaches in this conference is quite special.

After the 45-0 shellacking MSU took against LSU in the first game of the year, I thought this would be a long year for the Bulldogs. I gotta give them credit for hanging in there and not throwing in the towel. Croom deserves that award.
