College Football: Instant Replay, Oct. 7

It was a day of firsts for Ole Miss, Belhaven and Millsaps. How Mississippi's teams did on Saturday:

Ole Miss 17, Vanderbilt 10: The Rebels earn their first SEC win of the season.

West Virginia 42, Mississippi State 14: Rich Rodriguez, coach of the fourth-ranked Mountaineers, isn't happy. Neither is Bulldogs coach Sylvester Croom.

Jackson State 19, Alabama State 13: The Tigers end their six-game losing streak to the Hornets and improve to 3-0 in the SWAC.

Belhaven 26, Union 23: The Blazers, inspired by Doctor S, win their first game of the season.

Millsaps 38, Centre 12: The Majors open SCAC play with a homecoming win over the Colonels.

Louisiana College 31, Mississippi College 28: The Louisiana Baptists best the Mississippi Baptists.

Delta State 31, Arkansas Tech 13: Scott Eyster becomes the top passer in GSC history as the Statesmen whip the Wonder Boys.

Grambling State 28, Mississippi Valley State 25: The Delta Devils come up short against the G-Men thanks to lousy special teams play.

Tulsa 20, Southern Miss 6: Oh yeah, we neglected to mention the Golden Eagles' crash landing on ESPN's "Every Night College Football."
