This week Jerry speaks about Harriet Meyer's step down as Supreme Court Nominee and ruminates about who Bush can put up next to heal the rift in the Republican party. The rift that he erroneously blames on the Democrats.

I appreciate that Ms. Miers decided to bow out of the nomination process in order to protect President Bush, who is a close friend of hers. She believed the Democrats' demand for her written work while in the White House would put undue pressure on the president. I value such allegiance and clear thinking.

I'm sorry, Jerry, but I was under the assumption that the Democrats sat this one out and let you guys shoot your own selves in the foot. But, then again, maybe I'm wrong.

Jerry, despite his claims of "not being a White House insider", speaks of a conversation he had with Rove about the new nominee and how he really can't disclose the people he recommended as the New York Times and the Washington Post would then make it impossible for these people to actually be confirmed...

When Mr. Rove called, I had the opportunity to suggest a few names who I think would be exceptional jurists. I won't disclose who those individuals are because The Washington Post and The New York Times would make it virtually impossible for them to be confirmed.

That's another point on which I was obviously confused. See I thought the Senate had hearings that confirmed candidates, not the NYT or the WP. But, hey, maybe I'm wrong here.

Jerry seems to give the Democrats and the "liberal media" lots and lots of power with his statements. Lots of power that is obviously misused and ill placed. Hey, I could say a lot about misused power by simply mentioning the indictments that were handed down this week, not to mention his conversation with Rove. Has anyone noticed that Rove seems to be having lots of conversations with people about things he really shouldn't be talking about?

Loose lips sink ships, Rovey. Shouldn't you know that by now?

And, in light of this craptacular piece of Falwell reasoning, its absolutely perfect that the AP article announcing Bush's nomination of Alito for the Supreme Court hit this morning.

Alito is a strict conservative who is sure to warm the panties of any man in Falwell's position.

Its gonna be a good fight, kids.
