Mayor Johnson Weekly Newsletter 5/26

Tennis Center South Improvements. Mayor Johnson showcased ongoing improvements to Tennis Center South Wednesday. This center located off of McDowell Road is a very popular facility and it attracts tennis enthusiasts from Jackson and also surrounding communities for both league and leisure play.

We have upgraded four of the courts at the 14-court facility by providing new fencing, new lighting, resurfacing the courts and re-striping them. Some upgrades in landscaping were also part of this project.
The latest round of improvements was funded through the 2003 General Obligation Bonds at a cost of about $334,000.
Through the 1998 General Obligation Bonds, $300,000 was spent a couple of years ago to renovate the clubhouse, improve the decking and provide landscaping and to install a retaining wall.
