Latasha, I had to edit out your graphic; for some reason, it was messing up the front page. But I kept the copy, so sit still works. Happy new year!

My auto-generated ones are: # Learn to speak redneck # Get a part of my body enlarged # Watch 2 infomercials a day My real ones are: 1. Spend more time doing volunteer work. 2. Lose 20 pounds. At my leisure. Maybe. 3. Stop apologizing for being me. 4. Stop hanging around people who think I need to earn their approval. 5. Spend more time hanging around people who don't. 6. Be a better listener. 7. Stop picking really challenging book projects unless I'm in love with the topic. 8. Read more books. Especially novels. 9. Start writing a little fiction, if I have time and the mood strikes me. 10. Keep the righteous anger; lose the other kind. And a bonus: Meet Latasha Willis in person sometime this year. Because she rocks. Cheers, TH

BTW, Ali, I just edited your next column. I think you're off to a good start on your resolutions. And you have some righteous anger left over to share with Tom. Cool. ;-)

I guess I should add "work less," being that I arrived here 12.5 hours ago today, huh? Oh well, the yoga will make up for it. ;-)

I already thought about the "working less" thing. And, I think I'm going to keep that one. ;) Righteous anger? Yup. We got that in loads over here. :)

Let's start the D-TAC Club. The Downtown Angry Chicks' Club. (You're an honorary DT girl.) Righteous, Babe.

The automated ones were awful close! Release a hit single Dye my hair every color of the rainbow Stop picking my nose 1. Avoid toxic people, and when I can't avoid them completely, try to remember they don't define me. 2. Quit being scared that things I write during my spare time (HA!) will be used against me later. And Ali says amen. 3. Appreciate the friends I have and love them every day and try my best to TELL THEM SO. 4. Let go of things I can't control. 5. Update my blog as often as possible. Again, without fear. 6. Take that hour I get by law when working an eight hour day and don't use it to work. I'm beginning to remember books. 7. Although I can't commit to pedicures, I can commit to not ever getting two inch roots again. So not fabulous. 8. Take care of my back the best way within my means. 9. Develop abs of steel (see #8.) 10. Stop having guilt when I have free time to do nothing. When I'm old and dying, will I wish I'd vacuumed more or will I wish I developed my mind and talents the best I could? 11. Say no when my plate is full. And don't feel guilty about it.

I would also like to say, I wanna meet Latasha too! And Ali Greggs is already kicking ass at #5. I love her more than Godiva chocolate. Except for the lemon one.

I was starting to think no one saw this thread...winners never quit, huh? I hope the graphic didn't make things look too crazy - at least not for a long time. I'll save the graphics for the body of the text. At least the Kwanzaa one turned out okay.

2. Quit being scared that things I write during my spare time (HA!) will be used against me later. And Ali says amen. Honey, I know from experience that, likely, this is what will matter the most to you. Keep it up.

Yeah, can't you just see the D-TAC Club all hauled in "for questioning" for, er, "disturbing the peace." To coin Kathy Bates in "Fried Green 'Maters" — "I'm louder and got damn fine attorneys."

I would be PROUD to go to jail for something I wrote that pissed someone else off. Seriously. Emily, we'll kick their ass. Don't worry. I have pointy toe shoes.

And it would be GREAT marketing. And I'm sure one could get lots of writing done from jail if needed. If that guy in Cape Fear could teach himself to read, there's no telling what we could do.
