While you're waiting to see whether Smarty Jones can win the Belmont Stakes on Saturday (post time 5:04 p.m. on Ch. 3), and become the first horse to win the Triple Crown since 1978 (Doctor S says yes), here are a couple of interesting items of horse sense from Slate.
