The Mangia Bene restaurant group, which includes Sal and Mookie's New York Pizza and Ice Cream Joint, BRAVO! Italian Restaurant & Bar and Broad Street Baking Company, will host two special dinners at its restaurants this month.

On Monday, July 14, Chef Matt Mabry at Bravo! Italian Restaurant & Bar (4500 Interstate 55 Frontage Rd., Suite 244) will host a special vegan dinner starting at 6 p.m.

The menu will include lychee, jasmine and lemongrass tea, sesame-sugar snap pea salad, locally made borage and blackberry marmalade, Smith County watermelon gazpacho, heirloom tomato caprese, abalone mushroom "filet," house-made purple hull pea ravioli, Chilton County peach sorbet, fig upside-down cake and more.

On Monday, July 21, Sal and Mookie's (565 Taylor St., 601-368-1919) will host the first Mississippi Craft Beer Dinner, sponsored by Southern Beverage Company and Capital City Beverages.

The dinner is $65 per person and includes six courses paired with six craft beers from Mississippi breweries. The brews are Oxford Brewing Co.'s MPA #8, Crooked Letter Brewing Co.'s Heffy, Lucky Town Brewing Co.'s Ballistic Blonde, Lazy Magnolia Brewing Co.'s Southern Pecan, Southern Prohibition Brewing's 2014 IPA and Yalobusha Brewing Co.'s Testify Bourbon Barrel Milk Stout.

Mellow Mushroom Introduces Chipotle Menu for Summer

Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers (275 Dogwood Blvd., Flowood, 601-992-7499) has introduced the Up In Smoke menu for the summer season, featuring a selection of limited-edition signature dishes and specialty cocktails inspired by chipotle and poblano peppers. The Up In Smoke menu will be available through July 27.

The new menu includes items such as grilled chicken pizza topped with Mexican mole sauce, spicy shrimp calzones stuffed with roasted peppers and Mexican chorizo sausage, a grilled chicken and mole sauce hoagie, shrimp rajas salad, a chicken poblano bowl and more.

As a featured accompaniment to the Up In Smoke menu, Mellow Mushroom will offer the flavorful West Coast-style Samuel Adams Rebel IPA as well as new house cocktails, including the El Diablo margarita, infused with fresh jalapeno and served with a half rim of chile lime salt, and the Hot Mama, a blood orange margarita, made with Solerno blood orange liqueur, Milargo Silver, agave sour, Mellow Meringue, and fresh ginger, served with a half rim of orange cayenne salt.

Locally Yours Pop-up Market

On Saturday, July 12, women's clothing and home decor shop Anthropologie (1000 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, 601-898-1201) will host the Locally Yours Pop-up Market at the Renaissance at Colony Park in Ridgeland from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Locally Yours will feature local vendors from the Ridgeland area selling everything from bread to home-made jellies to flowers.

The featured vendors include Atlas Snacks, Bean Fruit Coffee, Fresh Cut Catering and Floral, La Brioche, Locally Preserved, Meringue Macaron Kitchen and Mississippi Bees.
