There's never a slow news week in Jackson, Miss., and last week was no exception. Here are the local stories JFP reporters brought you in case you missed them:

  1. New high-tech water meters could save the city money and cut down on labor, but at what cost?
  2. The Jackson City Council recently approved a pair of emergency change orders to restart work on Capitol Street and Fortification Street.
  3. Law enforcement raided the home of Rosi Lopez in early December looking for a homicide suspect.

  9. There was nothing normal about Jackson State University's handling of its decision to fire Rick Comegy, announced Wednesday morning.
  10. Ward 4 Councilman De'Keither Stamps wants to see money the city pays out in wages stay within the city limits.
